    Would N501-8A be OK?

1234 is a PA cab and is tuned for mid bass

By itself, not really since it's a 'textbook' XO, so ideally requires woofer impedance compensation combined with proper driver/horn offset, which this cab doesn’t have unless the baffle is modded with a 9846 style woofer supra baffle plus adding its 30904 network [possibly modded for the 416B’s impedance curve].

Of course, it will ideally need a new venting system tuned to whatever works best if sealed doesn’t have enough usable bass output in room.

Then again, it’s fine if you use digital EQ to time align, frequency shape the woofer, horn individually same as was/is done in prosound apps.

As GM said, you will have to fiddle with the cabinet as it's tuned for a speaker with a much higher resonance. Not sure how you plan to implement it all....but without subs something like a DCX2496 or mini DSP will let you do a lot of tone mods. You won't get 20 Hz out of it, but set up properly could have a nice balance.

I have heard the 1234 sound nice for HiFi, within it's LF limitations.
